The largest regional film and television awards in North America announced this year’s nominations today. The Leo Awards were created in 1999 to annually celebrate excellence in British Columbia’s provincial film, television and other forms of entertainment.
This year we are pleased to announce that Affolter Entertainment’s latest short film, “Plant Girl,” has been nominated for six different awards, including “Best Short Drama.”
The other five nominations in the short film category went to M. Renee Fulsom for “Best Production Design” (who will be competing against herself, as she garnered a second nod for her production design on Bollywood-style short, “Sindoor,”)
Krista Sung for “Best Costume Design,” Leo Award veteran and Gemini-award winning composer Daniel Seguin for “Best Musical Score,” thespian T.C. Dickinson in her leading performance as Lily for “Best Performance by a Female,” as well as directing duo Nathan and Thomas Affolter for “Best Direction.”
Congratulations to all of this year’s nominees! As well, a very special thanks to everyone who assisted, supported, or toiled with blood, sweat and tears on the production, helping the story realize its full potential!
This year’s awards gala will be held June 4th and 5th, 2010.
