Thomas got his start by winning Best Picture at the Red Carpet Film Festival in 2005 with Affolter Entertainment’s short film “Exceptions”. He followed that up by taking two films to the festival the very next year, “Jenga” and “Sofia’s Birthday”, which garnered a combined 12 nominations and 5 wins, including Best Picture and Best Director. That led to a directing job on the television series “OCTV” in 2006.
Thomas also produced and directed a co-production between Affolter Entertainment and Capilano University Film Centre, where he attended the film program with Heath. That film, “Left to Blossom”, was nominated at the Leo Awards for Best Student Production in 2008. Most recently Thomas and Nathan directed Affolter Entertainment’s short film “Plant Girl”, from a screenplay by Jon and Heath. The story was developed by all four brothers together, and the film earned 6 nominations at the Leo Awards including Best Short Drama and Best Direction in a Short Drama.
As a writer, producer and director, Thomas is artistically inspired by collaboration. Along with everyone at Affolter Entertainment, Thomas is dedicated to creating unique, compelling stories that challenge our perception of the world, and of ourselves.
